Where to find FREE Yoto content

The Yoto is hands-down our favorite, most loved toy! If you’re new to the Yoto Player or looking for more information on what it is, why we love it, our favorite cards etc - head to THIS blog post.

For more Yoto content head to THIS post. I’ve included my Yoto Player review, all our favorite cards, my library system, how to make your own cards and more!

⁣For this post specifically, I want to focus on where you can find FREE Yoto content. Some families love to buy cards straight from Yoto and some families like to focus on Make Your Own cards and get pretty thrifty! We’ve benefited from both and this post will include links to all of the free resources I know of. I’ll continue to add to this as I find more.

(Almost free) content for Yoto

While Libro.fm. is not free, it’s one of my favorite places to find audiobooks in MP3 format, which is what you need for Yoto. It has an option to sign up for a subscription, but you can also find individual audiobooks. My biggest trick is to check out their sale section each month - I have found so many amazing books for $1-$5 (things like Redwall, The Campground Kids, The Little House books, and the Wingfeather Saga). Go to their sale page and filter for children’s content.

Master list of free content for Yoto

Yoto Public Domain:

The Yoto public domain is a great place to find free content. You can simply click, “add to your library” and it will automatically add the content to your Yoto app library. This makes it super easy because you don’t even have to make a playlist - it simply adds it to your app and you can use it immediately.

Free Audiobooks from around the web:

Fairy Tales:

Kara Shallenberg Audiobooks:

Free Audiobooks by narrator Kara Shallenberg (a favorite Librovox narrator who has made several books available on her own website). Her Librovox recordings can be found HERE.

AmblesideOnline:

If you are an Ambleside family, here are the available audiobook recordings from Years 1-4 and Years 5-8

Librovox Recordings:

Liborvox is not my kids’ favorite because the narrators are hit or miss, however there is a ton of free content available. Many of them are listed above under the Yoto Space section.

Other Resources for Free Yoto Content and Ideas

I enjoy a few Yoto Facebook Groups for recommendations as well: Yoto for Charlotte Mason and Christian Yoto Content.

How to add Podcasts to MYO cards

Podcasts are also a great free resource for Yoto. To add podcasts to your Yoto Player, open the Yoto app, go to the "Podcasts" section, and select "Add Podcast." Then, paste the podcast's RSS link and save it to create a card for the podcast. I like to use THIS website to easily find RSS links. I’ve linked to a few RSS feeds below:
